Project Objective

This project explored how persuasive communication adapts to the needs, expertise, and emotions of diverse audiences. Within the context of the Unbound conference on literary censorship, I designed a digital experience that applies ethos, pathos, and logos to present complex information clearly and compellingly. The goal was to create content that educates and motivates action, offering multiple points of entry for both subject-matter experts and newcomers to the topic.

Design Strategy

I began by researching audience segments, mapping their values, and identifying the most effective persuasive approaches. Using mind-mapping, iterative copywriting, and wireframing, I structured the website to emphasize credible evidence, urgent issues, and emotionally resonant narratives. I adapted the visual language from prior conference materials for a responsive digital environment, refining hierarchy, rhythm, and flow. The final design integrates structured information, intuitive navigation, and a cohesive identity to support a persuasive and accessible user experience.

What I learned

I strengthened my persuasive information design skills by using ethos, pathos, and logos to engage diverse audiences, applying narrative structure, visual rhythm, and Gestalt principles to guide attention and create flow. I also learned to use semiotics—anchorage and connotation—to shape meaning and design for deeper psychological impact and actionable response.
